The Power of Our Words: Navigating Critique and Ego in Mediumship

In the spiritual realm, our words carry weight this can be whether we’re guiding clients or offering opinions on others’ practices. Lately, I’ve seen discussions in the mediumship community about what’s “right” or “wrong.” Advocacy for standards is important, but when critique turns into a rigid “you can’t do this” approach, we risk crossing into ego territory.
Yes, we should speak up when we see something ethically off, but we also need to weigh the impact. Constructive feedback can help those who are growing, but harsh words might push someone with self-doubt away from their path. Are we lifting people up or simply being “right”?
My stance: Let’s hold ourselves to higher standards, yes absolutely. But let’s do it in a way that fosters growth, not fear. Words are powerful; let’s ensure they’re used in alignment with the healing intentions we hold for our clients and each other.
You aren’t alone and I’ll always be a last line hotline for you.
