Has a Medium Ever Made You Feel Like Sh*t?
Let’s be honest: some readings can leave you feeling worse than before. Maybe the tone was off. Maybe they delivered something scary with no grounding. Maybe they acted like they knew everything and gave zero space for your response.
If you've been there, you're not crazy, and you're not alone. I’ve been there too, and it made me swear I’d never be that kind of reader.
This post is for those of us who feel things deeply, who get intuitive hits, random dreams, emotional downloads, and want to use those gifts in a way that’s real, kind, and grounded.
Because here's the truth: Being intuitive doesn’t mean you're always right. And being confident doesn’t mean you stop questioning.
Spiritual Confidence Doesn’t Mean Preaching from a Pedestal
I used to be terrified of saying something “wrong.” I didn’t want to lead anyone in the wrong direction, or worse, come off like I thought I was some enlightened all-knowing being. (I’m not.)
What I’ve learned is that real spiritual confidence sounds more like:
“This is what I’m picking up, does it resonate for you?”
“Energy shifts, so this might evolve.”
“I could be wrong, and that’s okay.”
It’s collaborative, not controlling. And that’s the energy I want to stay in.
What Happens When We Speak from Ego Instead of Alignment
Here’s what I’ve noticed (and experienced): when someone speaks in absolutes, like “This will happen” or “That person is definitely dangerous”, and you don’t feel it in your gut, something’s off.
It’s okay to have hits that feel strong. But pushing them on someone who says “I don’t resonate with that” is where ego starts to creep in.
I had someone once tell me something terrifying in a reading, something about danger and someone watching me, and when I said, “No, I’m not feeling that,” they doubled down. That’s not intuition. That’s control. And I don't want to be part of that energy. (For the record this specific person did not have ill intentions, they are still learning. Which prompted me to write this article for future beginners.)
You Can Be Intuitive and Humble
This is the sweet spot I’m always trying to stay in. If you’ve ever said:
“I feel like I know things but I don’t want to come off as cocky,”
“I don’t want to assume I know better than anyone,”
“I don’t ever want to lead someone wrong”
Then you’re already on the right path. That humility is what keeps you aligned.
Trust me, people can feel when you care. Your energy comes through in how you speak, how you hold space, and how you admit that you're still learning, too.
Being a Frequency Holder (aka: Showing Up as Your Full Self)
I believe some of us are here to stabilize energy. To just be the reminder of what it feels like to be safe, grounded, and real.
That might look like:
Holding space without fixing
Letting people process instead of pushing
Walking away from energy that feels chaotic or manipulative
You don’t have to be “the best psychic” or “the most accurate reader.” You just have to be someone people feel safe around. That’s it. That’s your medicine.
You’re Not Too Much—You’re Just Tuned In
People might tell you you’re too intense, too deep, too serious, but that just means you’re picking up on stuff they’re not ready to face. Your sensitivity is a strength. Just give it boundaries.
So if you’re like me, sensitive, intuitive, but terrified of becoming one of those people who cause harm....breathe. You’re not. The fact that you care is the difference.
Let’s Normalize Talking About This
Have you ever had a spiritual interaction that didn’t sit right? Or felt something strongly but were scared to say it? Or struggled to find the right words because you didn’t want to hurt someone?
Yeah. Same.
Leave a comment, send a message, or just sit with it. These are the conversations that matter.
You’re not here to be perfect. You’re here to be present. That’s the kind of intuitive this world needs more of.
